A pocketknife is a great gift for any occasion: birthday, Christmas, graduation, first job, retirement… you name it. It is a useful tool but with some sort of aura around it and, if properly taken care of, will last for decades. However, the tradition says that if you give a knife as a gift, you sever the relationship. The solution is to ask for some symbolic money to, basically, “sell” the knife, the easiest way is to slip a coin in the box.
